Route & passage planRota & sefer planı
The destination, not the starting line. ~450–500 nm down the Marmara, through the Dardanelles, and along the Aegean.Başlangıç çizgisi değil, varış noktası. Marmara, Çanakkale Boğazı ve Ege boyunca ~450–500 deniz mili.
The straits
The Bosphorus and Dardanelles have strong south-setting currents, traffic separation schemes and heavy commercial shipping — you essentially must motor through; sailing them is impractical and partly restricted. “Minimal engine” really means: motor the straits and the calms, sail the open coastal legs.
The Aegean leg
This is where minimal-engine sailing lives. The summer Meltemi blows behind a southbound boat — great for sailing, but Force 6–8 demands skill and shelter options. Treat the whole run as a Coastal-Skipper-level passage, ideally crewed and done with an experienced skipper the first time.
Build up to it
The faster path to sailing a lot is to charter short, sheltered legs around Göcek and Fethiye once you’ve got the ADB and ~100 logged miles, then grow the passage from there.
Plan the legs
Add waypoints, weather windows, bolt-holes, and fuel/water stops here as you research with the Heikell pilot.
